Let’s face it; the outside world is currently taking the shape of a narrative assignment assigned to a middle schooler obsessed with Rick & Morty and Fortnite. That being said, each of our individual quarantined lives can seem pretty uneventful. Wake up, sign into work, clock out of work, desperately find something to do to fill the void of being at events and going outside, go to bed. Most of us have a natural instinct to go about a routine daily even when all is normal, and quarantine has just brought that routine into limelight.

Adding music to your daily quarantined routine can spice up some of our mundane activities, help you focus, and get to your daily goals and objectives with ease. I mean, if you’re reading this, I assume you don’t hate music, right? And I’m sure everyone has their preferences about what genre of music they like for certain activities. That’s exactly how I will be breaking up my list of songs to incorporate into your lives, so feel free to listen to some of my suggestions! Here is some music for your day to day quarantine, from waking up to hitting the hay for the night.

The “Shower Bangers” Playlist

This one is tough. People who jam out while they shower in the morning are generally looking to get pumped up and motivated for their day ahead. Or maybe, your looking to imagine yourself performing live at a massive arena and singing your heart out because we all sound GREAT in the shower. We do. Here are some of my top picks.

Under Cover of Darkness – The Strokes
Everybody Wants To Rule The World – Tears For Fears
Promises – Calvin Harris, Sam Smith, Jessie Reyez
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For – U2
Viva La Vida – Coldplay
We Didn’t Start the Fire – Billy Joel
Rain On Me – Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande
Sunflower – Post Malone, Swae Lee
I Need It – Johnny Balik
Black Smoke Rising – Greta Van Fleet

The “Get Your Work Done” Playlist

No matter what your job entails, the primary objective of a good work song is FOCUS. For me, I go with instrumentals. Lyrics get in the way of my work especially when I’m writing, and the right instrumental song will get me feeling like I’m literally Albert Einstein. Get your daily tasks out of the way quickly and efficiently with some of these motion picture soundtracks and instrumentals.

The Council of Elrond (feat. “Aniron”) – Howard Shore
Festival – Sigur Ros
Under The Wind – The Tides
Time – Hans Zimmer
Becoming one of “The People” Becoming one with Neytiri – James Horner
Dumbledore’s Farewell (“Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince”) – Nicholas Hooper
A Lannister Always Pays His Debts – Ramin Djawadi
London – James Newton Howard
Dead Already (From “American Beauty”) – London Music Works
We’re Going Home – Clint Mansell

The “Pump Up Work Out” Playlist

I feel I might have some trouble getting through to your preferences when it comes to exercise. You’ve got your tunes that pump you up to work your body to it’s maximum potential. For me, I like the heavier stuff. Here’s some music that gets me going above and beyond when exercising.

Mixed Signals – Rezz, Blanke
Feel The Volume – Jauz
You & Me – Bassnectar, W. Darling
Knights of Cydonia – Muse
When I’m Gone – Dirty Honey
The Violence – Asking Alexandria
Circle of Serpents – Extortionist
Killing In The Name – Rage Against The Machine
Superman’s Dead – Our Lady Pearce
Jungle Juice – Ganja White Night, Liquid Stranger

The “Make Cooking A Blast” Playlist

I’m no expert chef, and I find that some recipes I tackle can induce some stress. Generally, I’ll keep my cooking playlist lighthearted and upbeat, so I can take away some of the built up stress I feel when keeping track of multiple things at once. Maybe you’re cooking with someone too, in which case, feel free to have a little dance party.

Time (You and I) – Khruangbin
I’ve Got A Name – Jim Croce
I’ve Just Seen A Face – The Beatles
New Soul – Yael Naim
You And Your Heart – Jack Johnson
The Wire – HAIM
MARBLE TEA – Shawn Wasabi
Sanity – Nick Murphy
Night Moves – Bob Seger
Beast Of Burden – The Rolling Stones

The “Dinner’s Ready” Playlist

You’ve clocked out of work, you’ve exercised, and you’ve chefed up a delicious dinner for you and your family. Every house has their own taste with what they want to listen to when they come together for dinner. Here are some of my and my families favorites!

Dreamers Of The Shore – Volcan Peaks, Cody Francis
Love, Love, Love – Donny Hathaway
Let It Be – Joshua Redman
XO – John Mayer
The Limit To Your Love – Feist
Holocene – Bon Iver
Let It Be Me – Ray LaMontagne
Take the World – Johnnyswim
Poison & Wine – The Civil Wars
Only Love – Ben Howard

The “What I’m Listening To Right Now” Playlist
