The month of August is now upon us (wait, is it August already? What happened to July? Someone try to figure out what happened to July and get back to me), and there will be a lot of exciting happenings for you to look forward to.
As I am sure everyone knows, August is National Goat Cheese Month as well as National Panini Month, which combined would make a pretty tasty month. Some of the highly anticipated movies that are due out in August include “The Change-Up” starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman, as well as “Our Idiot Brother” starring Paul Rudd as, well, an idiot brother. MTV will also hold their annual Video Music Awards on August 28, and Katy Perry looks like she may steal the show.
There will also be plenty of live events happening in August in the world of sports, concerts and theater. Here are a few of our top choices for 2011:
Janet Jackson: Sometimes referred to as the ”Queen of Pop,” Janet Jackson has been part of popular culture for nearly 30 years and is one of the best-selling artists in history. She continues her Number Ones: Up Close and Personal tour on August 1 in Montreal and will make stops in cities including Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Kansas City and Seattle this month.
Adele: After having to postpone her North American tour due to laryngitis, Adele will begin to make up postponed shows in August, including concerts in Vancouver, Seattle and Los Angeles.
Blink-182 & My Chemical Romance: The two punk rock bands will embark on their Honda Civic Tour on August 5 in Holmdel, NJ, and will have dates across the U.S. and Canada including Hartford, Milwaukee, Toronto and Winnipeg.
