For the next two months, the breakout electropop star will be touring North America. Halsey has connected with so many fans over the past couple years. Her transparent vocals and infectious beats have allowed her to rise to unfathomable levels of fame. Fan turnout for the much anticipated hopeless fountain kingdom tour will reflect that.
Just a few years ago she was a dropout that was couch-surfing trying to find her calling in life. However, a chance meeting with a talent scout discovered her incredible voice.
From there, her songs, “Ghost” and “New Americana” headlined her 2015 album, Badlands. Halsey accrued a following of teenagers filled with angst going through the same problems as her in this crazy world.
In 2017, her career trajectory is still soaring. “Now or Never” and “Bad at Love” were well-received singles to jump start the project. She is a complicated soul with a simple message. Her music is an extension of herself. Additionally, she consistently lets fans in, and lets them know they are not alone. She doesn’t see herself as a star or celebrity, just someone trying to figure out life like everyone else.
These refreshing takes are hard to come by in the music industry. Nearly everyone that listens to her music can relate to Halsey in some way. From Connecticut to California and even in Canada, the North American leg of her tour is highly anticipated.
Additionally, the tour features some promising opening acts. Breakout R&B star, PartyNextDoor, will be an opener for most of the hopeless fountain kingdom tour. He is part of Drake’s label, OVO Sound. He played a key role in writing Rihanna’s smash hit, “Work” and the biggest hit of his own was “Come and See Me,” featuring Drake.
Charli XCX is also expected to appear at a few of the tour dates as well. Most fans will know her from Iggy Azalea’s smash-hit single, “Fancy.” Charli XCX mirrors the genre of Halsey, so she should be a nice addition in that aspect.
